MAKING GREEN MAINSTREAM

With energy costs steadily on the rise, so has the appeal for a cleaner, more efficient way of life. We've seen the automobile industry making great advancements in response to the demand for a higher efficiency, lower emissions form of transportation. By exploring new types of alternative fuels or by making current consumption more effective, it hopes to change the overall way we look at public and private transportation. Just the same, the architectural and building industries are taking steps to effectively reduce energy consumption in the average household.

Danze & Davis Architects, Inc. has not only supported these efforts, but continues its involvement as new technologies emerge. As members of the Austin Energy Green Building program, they understand the principals and methods to designing homes with energy efficiency in mind. Never straying from tradition, Danze & Davis still incorporates effective design at an affordable price. They're making "green" mainstream.

Education is the First Step
We, at Danze & Davis, feel that learning is an important step before taking a head-first plunge into building with green design in mind. To help educate, we've created the interactive learning tool above in hopes your next project will incorporate some of these initial design elements. Whether a home has a multiple-star green rating or none at all, your home or building can be energy-efficient. In addition, we've created a list of resources available for you to help further your education.

The WeberPlay the "Green Design" special
Danze & Davis' most recent development in green design earned a four-star rating in Austin and in 2006 was awarded for its innovation in both functionality and design. This 2,580 square foot home makes use of modern energy-efficient technology and architecture while maintaining the beauty of mainstream style. Additional photos of the Weber can be seen in our residential gallery and watch the "Green Design" episode of Up Close in our video gallery.

As advancements in conservation and sustainable building in architecture have continued to develop, it has recently become a more realistic, cost-effective alternative for the average homeowner. Danze & Davis Architects feels this movement is an important one and is actively pursuing this trend in hopes to make green building methods standard in architectural design.
